    Red Rhino Tours was founded with two dreams in mind:

    1. To share the beauty of Tanzania with people from all over the world, and

    2. To create a sustainable and cyclical funding source for the Mungere School

    All proceeds from your tour will be invested directly into the education of local youth, the same kids you’ll get to meet if you choose to visit the Mungere School during your visit.

    We are committed to environmental conservation and animal welfare. We support local conservation efforts, promote sustainable practices, and advocate for responsible wildlife viewing. By partnering with local communities and supporting wildlife rehabilitation centers, we aim to create meaningful experiences for travelers while contributing to the preservation of Tanzania's natural treasures and wildlife habitats.

    At Red Rhino Tours we invest in Tanzania, meaning we ensure that every step of the process is ethical for all parties. One of the ways we do this is by ensuring our tour guides and service professionals are paid fair wages.

What is Eco-Tourism and How are We Practicing it?

  • We always opt for lodges, camps, or resorts that prioritize sustainability, such as using renewable energy, minimizing waste, and supporting local conservation efforts.

  • All guests are instructed to follow the guidance of trained guides and keep a safe distance from animals to avoid disturbing them or causing stress. Avoid touching or feeding wildlife and never purchase products made from endangered species.

  • We ensure guests have the opportunity to engage in cultural experiences offered by local communities, such as visiting villages, purchasing handmade crafts directly from artisans, or dining at locally-owned restaurants.

  • Guests are encouraged to bring a reusable water bottle and refill it with purified water to reduce plastic waste. Dispose of waste properly and participate in recycling programs when available.

  • We encourage activities that have minimal environmental impact, such as safari viewing, hot-air balloon rides, hiking, birdwatching, or even snorkeling in Zanzibar, and avoid activities that disturb sensitive ecosystems.

  • We invite guests to help offset the carbon emissions from their travel by supporting our campus garden project expansion which both helps to offset carbon emissions and provides nutritious meals to our students.
