KILIMANJARO CLIMB
“One of the world’s greatest treks”

At 19,340 feet, Kilimanjaro is Africa’s highest mountain. No technical climbing skills are required though you must be in reasonably good shape to stand on the top of Africa. On the ascent to the summit you pass through rain forest, alpine, semi- desert, and snow-covered landscapes. You will see wildlife along the way which may include buffalo, elephant, colobus monkey, among others. It takes 5-6 days to climb the mountain. It can be climbed at any time of the year except during the long rains of April and May. The best times to climb are from December to March and July to October. The most popular route is the Marangu route which takes 6 days and is the easiest and most accessible.

Please Note: Alternative itineraries are available for climbing Kilimanjaro including the more difficult Shira Route. Please contact a Red Rhino Associate for additional route information.
